  • Home at Last

Yay, Tom came home from Cape May today. To think, it's only been a week without him and I'm climbing up the wall of boredom and frustration. Anyway, welcome home!! I missed you so much. I love you.  Oh, and congratulations to your sister for getting engaged!! w00t!! There's gonna be a wedding, there's gonna be a wedding!!

In other news, I love how there are "boy chores" and "girl chores" in my house. I'm exempt from having to rake the leaves in the yard after my dad just had a "trimming the bushes" frenzy. I mean, I should be washing the dishes and stuff like that, but I'm pretty much exempt from that too because I'm so busy and frankly, my parents already know I wouldn't do it anyway. I've always wanted to mow the lawn though. I thought the lawn mower was the coolest thing, but then my dad was all like "Nah yo, John's supposed to do it." The whole sexist crap gets to me, so I just abstain from all chores.

I'm watching "V for Vendetta" and I have to say, it's really good. I like the whole "Old English"-esque way V speaks. People who use proper grammar would beg to differ and simply say that he speaks "correct" English and not the "Nukka say wha?! Ohhh, muthafu**a be wilin' fo' sho'!! Ya kna what I mean? El-oh-el" jargon -- Oh, AP English reference!! Tsh, did anyone not get a 2 or lower on that thing? -- we're used to. V kind of reminds me of Tom's friend Andrew. I definitely see him reciting quotes from renowned novels to make casual conversation. Actually, come to think of it.. The Lord of the Rings quotes have popped up during conversation a couple times. I haven't a clue what he's said so far, but I'm picking up little tidbits here and there to help me get the gist of what V's saying.

10:55 PM - Just found out that the actor who plays V is Hugo Weaving, who also played the Elven King Elrond in -- none other than -- The Lord of the Rings. What a small world..
